We’ve seen a lot of talk about “reboots” lately.  Not to say that said reboots are bad, but really…..I’d like to draw your attention to both the likes of Neill Blomkamp and that of Guillermo del Toro.  They make things awesome, whether or not they’re reboots or adaptations.  And yes, I truly do have that much faith in both.

The real point here is that aside that the previous film trend that I mentioned (Sweden….Sweden is so hot right now), the other big deal at the moment is “rebooting” films of series that ultimately took turns that made us all wish we could stab the straws from our Cokes through our eyes, since being kicked out doesn’t make much of an actual, physical protest.

Sure.  We love Sweden.  And not just Sweden.  Oh, trust me.

Dear Scandinavian Men

The Geekachicas Request Your Presence.

Sincerely, Geekachicas as a Whole, Especially If We Can Take Pictures

The point being that no matter what the new “hawt kewl thing” in Hollywood happens to be, and no matter how much we enjoy the visuals displayed by such popularity, we still want to watch ENGAGING THINGS.

We can watch a man look good in a magazine

The point is….you spread the rumor you’re going to involve Guillermo del Toro in a Lovecraft film?  Oh, I have great faith in the man, as his mind is clearly full of the types of things that should land him in some sort of long-term facility.  If I had to choose one modern person to truly replicate Lovecraft, it would be Guillermo del Toro……even if you don’t live up to it precisely, which….let’s be honest, there are always going to be fan  moron psychos who aren’t ME who think any alteration of the original story is blasphemy….wow.  There is no one better they could have chosen, and whatever you do, I’m sure it will be worthy of respect from the angle of film critique.

Neill Blompkamp, don’t be worried, either.

The entire point of this commentary is to say that just as I mentioned in my previous set of comments, charisma is worth a lot, as is raw talent.  Combine the two, and SOMEONE will take notice.  Whether or not that someone can give you money is an entirely different matter (she said as she continued to watch District 9), will consider it a SERIOUS ISSUE.  At the same time, don’t forget, and I will say this in Internet yelling,

IF YOU’RE GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO, IF YOU HAVE THE CHARISMA TENNYSON MENTIONED, IF YOU HAVE THE SKILLS AND CAN HONESTLY BACK IT UP…..

Tell us!  Tell the Chicas!  Tell the Internet!  Tell the guy on the corner who’s asking for money for martial arts lessons!  If you are truly that confident in yourself, PEOPLE DESERVE TO KNOW, and what’s more, PEOPLE DESERVE TO SEE WHAT YOU’VE GOT.
